Government of India Bonds (GOI Bonds)

Government of India ne nayi saving bond scheme 4 January 2018 ko launch ki hai jo purani scheme ko replace karegi.

Iss GOI Bonds me pehle 8% tak interest milta tha par aab ye rate ghata kar 7.75% kar diya gaya hai lekin phir bhi ye rate bank FD se jyada hai to issi wajah se ye investment ke liye ek achha option hai.

GOI Bonds

Key points of GOI Saving Bonds:

  • Government 2003 se 8% ke rate par saving bond mila karte the jiska maturity period 6 saal tha. Ab 10 January 2018 se ye bond 7.75% rate par 7 year ke maturity period ke sath milenge.
  • Iss bond ko Indian Resident, HUF(Hindu Undivided Family) aur parents ya legal guardians, minors ke name par le sakte hai.
  • Ye bond ko aap specified distributor se kharid sakte hai jaise ki SBI aur SBI associated, National banks, kuch private limited bank jaise ki ICICI, HDFC etc aur stock holding corporation of India.
  • Bond me minimum investment Rs. 1000 se kar sakte hai aur isme koi upper limit nahi hai.
  • Saving bond list nahi hote isliye issue ho jane ke baad aap iss bond ko secondary market par trade nahi kar sakte aur ye bonds non transferable hote hai
  • Jo interest iss bond se milta hai wo tax slab ke according taxable hota hai aur ek financial year me apka interest rate 10000 se jyada hota hai tab is par TDS applicable hoga.
  • Iss bond ke liye physical ya electrical form me apply kar sakte hai. GOI Bonds ko demat form me issue kar sakte hai. Bonds ko aap individual ya joint basis pe hold kar sakte hai.
  • GOI bonds ko collateral ke base pe use nahi kar sakte yani iss par apko koi loan nahi mil sakta.
  • Waise to lock in period 7 saal ka hai par age ke hisab se isme kuch alag rules hai jisme holder ki age 60-70 hai to 6 saal baad withdraw kar sakte hai, age 70-80 hai to 5 saal baad aur age 80 se jyada hai to 4 saal ke baad pre-mature withdrawal kiya ja sakta hai.
  • Pre mature withdrawal karne par last 6 month ka interest ka 50% hissa penalty me cut ho jata hai.
  • Aap nomination form B fill kar de sakte hai. Agar aap fresh nomination karna chahe to phir se form B bhar kar de sakte hai aur agar bond holder minor hai to nomination ki requirement nahi hoti.

Iss bond ke 2 types hai

Non cumulative

Non cumulative me interest har 6 month me pay kar diya jata hai.

Cumulative

Cumulative me har 6 month me apka interest compound hoga aur maturity par principal ke sath apko sara amount pay kiya jayega.

 

Agar aap senior citizen hai aur aap ek fix income chahte hai to isme invest kar sakte hai par senior citizen saving scheme me apko 8.3% tak interest mil sakta hai aur dusra ek option hai pradhan mantri vaya vandana yojna jisme inters rate 8% hai.

Aap senior citizen me nahi aate aur guaranteed income chahte hai to aap iss bond me invest kar sakte hai kyunki yaha mil raha interest bank FD se jyada hai.
